Lugh Blackthorn, a grayish white unicorn, tumbled out of his caravan. The box he was currently carrying with his long, spindly, traditional unicorn tail spilled across the tall grasses and glimmered in the daylight.
"Curses and Pixies," he muttered with a huff as he ungracefully stood up and snorted his curly, blue hair out of his face. "I really should have just enchanted wood to do all this hard work, but then there would be the never ending clean up of bark, and then the never ending clean up of the broom bristles..." He sighed and glared heavily up at the daylight.
The trees provided little shade since these were the youngest of the trees after all. Though why did he settled here? Well mostly because the younger the trees are the more potential for magic.
With a grumble the pony began picking up his box of trinkets that ranged from bracelets to tail adornments all of which glistened with potential. Others (that were in the same box) were tarnished bronze. They were the more unused broken enchantments. A reminder from the last place.

Evest, an entirely green pegasus, was walking down the only street in Whispering Pines when he sees a new pony walking down the street carrying a box of stuff. He approaches, eager to make a new freind.
"Hello" Evest says when he catches up with this new pony. "Are you new here? I haven't seen you around before. I'm Evest"

Lugh raises a brow to the pony that addresses him. "Lugh Blackthorn," he replied lifting the box back up by wrapping his slender tail around it. "I just moved here a day ago and decided to clean out my caravan. I just live up the path yonder. You, Sir Evest?"

Raven Rise, a lightbrownish, dark-maned unicorn, was on his morning walk when he heard Evest talking.
"Are you new here? I haven't seen you around before. I'm Evest"
Evest and, someone new?
Curiosity got the better of him as he walked through the trees towards the sound of his voice. Evest was there, with a unicorn he hadn't seen before.
"Lugh Blackthorn." "I just moved here a day ago and decided to clean out my caravan. I just live up the path yonder. You, Sir Evest?"
This new unicorn named Lugh Blackthorn looked a bit older than he was, and his manner of speaking was similar to the classic literature he had read in his Pony History classes.
"I hope I'm not interrupting anything. I'm Raven and I couldn't help overhearing your conversation. You're new here? Awesome! ..Err, I'll let you finish Evest."

Oh, Hey Raven. You didn't interrupt anything. I was just about to Lugh here to The Crossing."
Evest turns to Lugh
"So, ya. I live with my roommate, Myra, just down the street. She has a shop there for spells and brews and such. I hope you find the town to your liking. Maybe I can help you move in. It's the least I could do for a new friend"

"Good day, Sir Raven." Lugh is a little put off at how excited his new acquaintance seems to be.
Lugh returns his sight to Evest. "You do not say? Spells and brews? I Suppose I should stop by if I find the time." However it was already crossing his mind that this Myra was a witch... witches... not good from the ones he has come across. What of this Evest?
He nods "The town is very beautiful, and I would enjoy a bit of help cleaning out the caravan. You see I'm in abundance of enchanted items that I need to be rid of. Um.. some are no good anymore."
He wiggles the package a bit. "Some in here are good to reuse though. I was going to sort them out when I find a suitable place to disarm them."
He then shifts his eyes to and fro. "Actually I would love to have watchers too. You see I do suspect a bit of a... well a bit of something that has been messing up my enchantments so they will not work."

"Hey, I could help you clean out your stuff or whatever you need while you go out, it's no trouble."
He wasn't sure what "watchers" were, but he'd never know if he didn't ask. "A watcher? I can try. I'm not the best, but I could at least try my hoof at what's causing problems."

"I'm in too." Evest replied shortly after Raven.
"I have no where to be and I can't think of a better way to spend my time then to help a new pony move in or be a "watcher". What would we be watching anyway?
Evest started to look around to see if anything stood out as an item that needed to be watched.

"Ah I am so glad that I have you two to help! So far it is just this box that needs to be disarmed." He jingled the box with his tail. "I saw a clearing not to far from here that we can test and disarm there. It will also be a good spot to see whatever is after my items coming."
Lugh lead the way to the clearing, pushing brambles out of the way with his magic.

Raven followed. He felt a bit nervous. He was confident in his magic, but had never worked with enchanting or charming objects before. It wasn't really his thing.
They reached a spot that stood out, this had to be the clearing.
"Allright, so what can we do?"

"Alright lets see..." he put the box down and opened it up. There were six items to be tested and some of them looked fried. He pulled out a necklace with his tail and handed it over to raven. "Test this one for me if you please. Evest you will have to watch the surrounding forest while Raven tests it."

Evest gives a salute and flies up to get an overall better view. He watches carefully. "Ok i'm ready whenever you are" he shouts down to Raven.

"Well, here goes nothing." He puts it on.
"I feel... warm...."
A ball of flame shoots out of his horn to the ground next to him. He didn't notice that it came from him.
"...?"
Then more. A mini-fireworks display goes out of his horn, lobbing fire at random directions. Only when it hits the trees does he realize what's going on.
"Starswirl's Beard!" He takes off the necklace and starts stomping out what fire he can. He notices smoke coming out of some of the higher trees.
"Evest! Help me take these out?"

With a Rainbow Dash salute, Evest raced off to the tops of the higher trees. The fire wasn't too bad but it left any longer could start to rage. He used his wings to blow out most of the fire but there was issue with one tree that was a bit too large for wind to put out. He raced to get some water. He put the fire out shortly after and went down to see how Raven and Lugh were doing. "Wow. That was an unexpected event..... What's next?"

Just as the trees were catching fire, Lugh helped put them out and left the box unattended. While away three of the enchantments went missing. Paw prints were leading away into the forests in the opposite direction.
"Alright we shall put that in the good but still needs tweaking pile." with magic he takes the necklace and places it to the side. When he went to the box he noticed the them missing. "This isn't good.... I'm missing quite a few of them."
He tips the box with his tail and makes sure he isn't miscounting. "yes definitely missing three."
