The Forest Floor (Rosemary, Lily)

Rosemary hadn't yet communicated passed a nod with any of the residents, she even opted to not have path built to her house, an odd decision seeing as she hosted a business from her abode. It seemed as if she valued her privacy and seclusion more than potential business.

She wanted to remain an enigma in the back of the other residents minds, to not be the forefront of anyone's thoughts. She sat just outside her door, listlessly panning over the scenery and the lake with a smile. It reminded her of home, the forest sounds all around her was comforting. She pushed up to all four, and she pandiculated as she took her first step towards the lake. Rosemary was stuck in her old ways somewhat, she had fresh clean water available to her, but preferred to drink from the still waters of the lake.

She hadn't yet been out of her home without her robes either, heavy black travelling robes with white trims, tight around the midsection and a drawn hood that obscured part of her face. You could barely hear her hoofsteps, lightly trotting her way to the lake's edge and leaning over to drink from it, ears perked up and facing outward, listening for... anything really.

[Lily]

As the sun shined brightly that day in a small hut in town, there lies a painter staring out her window whining about how she was soo bored...

Lily: Ugh... I'm soo bored, the sun is bright today but there is nothing to do but be lazy

she then sighed, then out of nowhere an idea struck her!

*she gasped*

Lily: I got an idea! I'll just go somewhere nice and soothe myself by painting the surrounding area, that'll keep me busy for the day!

And so the young mare grabbed her stuff and went on her marry way from her little hut, to town and then into the Whispering Pines as she wondered off glorious in excitement, as she got to her destination she then pressed on further deeper into the woods and shortly afterwards she noticed something as she walked within the forest, a hooded figure beside the lake!

And it appears it is drinking out of the pool of water, lily in surprise kept quite and ducked for cover behind a tree, she then took a peek and said to herself

Lily: This is bad! A black hooded figure! I should probably go b- PAINT IT!

Though in her excitement she remained quite as possible as she sets up her things in preparation for to paint such a devious looking shadow

Rosemary slowly lifted her head, ears twitching somewhat as she could make out feint sounds. Water dripped from her chin for a moment, and she panned around the lake, trying to figure out where the sound came from. Rosemary remained silent for quite some time, staring at the surrounding regions.

She finally worked up the nerve to call out, "H-HELLO?" she stammered out, "IS A-ANYONE THERE?" her yelling was barely louder than a normal speaking voice. She put a hoof on the Chives's charm dangling around her neck. "I-I'm w-w-warning you I h-have a mushroom! A-and... and he... umm... h-he won't... let you hu-... u-umm hurt me.." her voice progressively got lower and lower as she drug the sentence on through the stammers and pauses, her stammer becoming worse fromt he fear of the unknown.

But... maybe it was just a common forest sound? Possibly. She didn't rule out that it could be a malicious creature however, and slowly resume her business, "I-It's... I-I have e-ears like a hawk you kn-know!... O-oh wait isn't that... th-that eyes like a hawk I... I don't know..." she wanted to go back into her house and deadbolt the lock... and barricade the door, but she needed some supplies, her herb garden couldn't sustain her, and she needed some fresh fruits and whatnot, scavenging or god forbid actually going into town to... CONVERSE WITH PONIES, DUN DUN DUUUN.

She started along the edge of the lake, trying to get to town, and inevitably passed whoever was out there she assumed, "Just a q-quick stop in t-town, buy some a-apple and get out, s-simple." She kept her ears perked towards the location of the last sound she heard, as a precaution. She knew someone was there, but maybe if she ignored it, it would go away.

[Lily]

As lily painted on her canvas the strange figure lifted it's head and started making faint sounds, in quick reaction lily stood still like a rock not moving even an inch and thought to herself

"What the? It can hear me? After barely even making a sound it can still HEAR ME! Hmmm... this might be trouble if it decides to attack me... I'll just hold still as long as I ca- wait what? It's getting away!"

As the strange hooded figure started walking to somewhere, Lily was quick to follow and she thought to herself once more "I really hope it doesn't hear me following, but I must paint this strange fellow! Here goes nothing!" as she slowly tip toed a few distance from the hooded shadow

She was becoming more and more paranoid as her ears twitched and twitched relentlessly, she couldn't pinpoint the sounds around her, and even the forest sounds were putting her on edge.

Her walking became more rigid as she visibly tensed, wings quivering at her sides, trying to keep her emotions in check. She kept looking over her shoulder thought the hood blocked most of her vision when she did.

When Rosemary finally snapped she ripped the charm off her neck, tossed it in the air, and stomped her hoof down onto the ground. The combination of actions seemed arbitrary, but the charm brought forth her companion chives, the oversize cave mushroom. It landed with a plop and after gaining it's composure and a quick look around, "HIYA R-"

"SHH!" Rosemarsh quickly shushed her mushroom, putting her hoof to it's mouth. "S-somethings... h-here and I n-need you to watch my b-back alright?" she ask him with a pleading tone.

"Ooooooh ok Rosemary I'll be the watchin' your back'n'est best friend ever! You'll see nopony will get passed my sight! Oh who's your friend?" he leaned as far as he could to a side, smiling and looking at the pony that was following the pair.

Rosemary let out a rather pathetic squeak as her wings shot to either side, a feather launching from her right wing and gently floating down. She quickly spun around, fear and terror flooding her expression as she gave chives a little slap, "CH-CH-CHIVES GET IT!"

"Get what?" Chives asked ina curious tone.

"G-get-... Get... the thing- I don't know JUST D-D-DO SOMETHING!"

And something he did, falling on his face and rolling around the nice damp grass while laughing to himself in spurts.

As lily continued to "stalk" her "prey" the hooded figured started shivering as time passes by and out of the bloom the shadowed figured tossed something up in the air and heard a thud in the ground and poof out came a strange blue mushroom, lily was so surprised that she panicked a bit and hid behind some bushes, she notices the hooded fellow talking to the large mushroom and thought to herself

"Ooooo! This is soo exciting she can also summon cute little pets!"

As she continued her observation on the two strange creatures, to her surprise the mushroom had noticed her presence quite easily and quickly, lily started freezing like a piece of ice who doesn't know what to do, in her shock she couldn't move her muscles even an inch, as the mushroom creeped in she remained to do nothing, until the mushroom started rolling around on the ground, wasting no time she quickly jumped into some bushes, doing the same thing over and over again to confuse both the mushroom and the hooded stranger off her trail, she then stopped a few more distance away from the two of them, in relief and the thought of her thinking she's safe she calmed herself down and carefully observed the two once more

Lily: Now that was REALLY close!
