This is a Private Roleplay. [Fortuna Star & Pathfinder]
What- Fortuna Star has gotten a little lost and Pathfinder is lending a hoof. Where- The backwoods near the observatory. Fortuna yelped, rearing backwards in equal shock. She lost control of the bell and dropped it--The bell bounced off the bat, who smacked it right into the forest before flying off. Taken back, Fortuna could only stand there with wide eyes before her mind caught up with the situation...The bell was still bouncing away! Without a second thought she hurried into the backwoods to chase after her escaping bell. Some time passed...and Fortuna lost track of where her bell had gone. And lost track of where she had gone. 'The canopy is so thick here...' she thought to herself, her horn glowing to give her some light in this shadowy clearing, 'I can't tell which way is the way back home...'[/ul]

Because Para had given him that home-made remedy of hers yesterday, Path was feeling like his old self again. He was inside of his home, getting some supplies together for a trip to deep part of the forest. For the most part, he only been to the more opened areas of the woods. He is hoping to find some new wildlife and plants to base of for his next set of paintings. Once he had placed everything into his saddle, Path made his way out the door.
Waiting for him was Scarlett, his pet fox, who was resting at the moment. "Scarlett!," Path called out to her, who now had her head raised, "Come here girl!" Scarlett then made her way toward Path. "Ready to go?," He said the the fox, who had giving him a nod. "Then lets go!" And with that, they made their way towards the forest.
It had been some time since both Path and Scarlett had left their home. During that time there, Path had saw some things he did not know existed in this forest! While he wanted to some for a bit long, It was starting to get late, so both him and Scarlett started to walk home. As they were walking, Scarlett stopped for a bit, something got her attention. "What is it girl?," Path asked. Now, the fox was headed off toward whatever she heard, with Path right behind her.
As they got closer, Path could see a light in the distance. He was not sure who or what was causing it. Getting near, he saw that it was some pony who was making that light. "I wonder what she is doing her?," Path thought to himself. He then called out to the mare, "Excuse me miss? Are you alright?"

It wasn't an understatement to say Fortuna was a tad frightened by the unexpected, sudden arrival of another...Although her reaction was, admittedly, over the top. Letting out a small cry Fortuna reared around swiftly, the glow of her horn bursting in a full blown, blinding burst! The light split into three lit shots which went off into different direction and ran smack-dab into the trees around them. These left small charred marks... . . .Yep, over the top. Blinking for a moment, Fortuna Star managed to calm down. "O-Oh, I'm terribly sorry..." she told him in embarrassment, "I was...surprised. I wasn't expecting anypony to be here as well. Do you happen to be a resident of The Crossing?"[/ul]

After calling out the mare, he heard a cry from her. This was soon followed by a bright light. He couldn't see anything! Once the light had died down, Path could see that there were burnt marks on some for the trees... One of which he was next to. "...What just happened?," Path thought to himself, staring at the burnt tree.
Once the mare had calmed down, he was able to answer he question. "It's alright," Path said in a calming matter, "I should of been more careful. I'm just glad I didn't get hit by one of those shots."
"Although, surprised seems like an understatement...," he thought to himself, looking back at the tress.
"Anyway, yes, I am a resident of the Crossing. I take it that you are new here?," Path asked. "Under better circumstances, I would normally say "welcome", but now doesn't seem like a good time. I'm Pathfinder, by the way, but most ponies just called me Path."

she greeted politely, "I'm Fortuna Star and I moved in just yesterday...I dropped something of mine in here and, well, I can't seem to find it. . . .Or my way out, for that matter." It was a pity, really, to have gotten lost and gotten so startled as to make a scene as she had. Honestly, though, she was a bit more upset she couldn't find the bell her friends had given to her. She could imagine one Pony in particular being rather disappointed if she ever found out... Fortuna let out a quiet and remorseful sigh at the thought... "I hope I wouldn't be too much of a bother, but may I trouble you to guide me out?" she inquired. She wished she could continue searching for her bell, but as it would get darker soon, she didn't have much of a choice but to get out now. 'Perhaps I'll use my cards later to help me,' she thought, 'And search again in the morning...'[/ul]

"Hmm, I see," Path said as he listened to the unicorn. "That is rather unfortunate." He was going to offer to help look for the lost item, but then he looked at the sky. Luna's moon was starting to raise. Soon, it would be too dark to see, let alone, find something. It would be best if they looked in the morning. "You know, Scarlett and I can help you find your lost item," Path offered, "but, as you can see, It's going to be dark soon. We could look first thing in the morning."
"And It wouldn't be a problem with me at all," Path responded to Star's question. "Just stay close to me and we'll be out in no time." They now made their way towards the entrance of the forest. During the walk, Path was curious about what was lost. "Excuse me, Ms. Star? If you don't mind me asking, what was the item that was lost?"

Fortuna uttered before noticing the red fox by the stallion. "Ahh, she must be a very capable creature," she then said with a small smile towards Scarlett, before making their way out. She followed close behind Pathfinder, making sure to keep him in her sights as to not get herself more lost. At his query, she replied, "A somewhat large bell with a very vibrant shine. It was a farewell gift from my last residence, so it holds quite a bit of sentimental importance to me, you see. It's hard to miss, but apparently very easy to lose..." Again the mare sighed, thinking to herself, 'I suppose it's just easier to lose with MY eyes...'"Might I ask what you were doing out here? I do find it quite lucky you happened to be here in my hour of need..."[/ul]

"Sure, you can ask," replied Path, all the while walking along side Star. "You see, I'm a nature artist and, so far, I've been only drawing the scenery near the edge of the forest. I wanted to find more to work with, so I decided I would explore the deeper parts and see what else is out there." Path took a short pause before continuing.
"You know, I almost had half a mind to explore another day," he said, giving a nervous laugh. "I bet you're glad that I came today instead." Path could now see the entrance of the forest. "Ah, we are." Once outside, they could see that the moon was out. Both ponies then took a quick break. Before going their separate ways, Path had one more think to say. "Like I said before, Scarlett and I can help you look for your bell. Where should we meet up tomorrow?"

she commented, before wondering what she would have done if they hadn't crossed each other's path...Well, the night would have been uncomfortably long. But luckily, that was not the case and they were out of the woods--literally. "I thank you, Mister Pathfinder," she said, "And I should like to suggest near my home--as that was where I lost it...It's just a ways off from the observatory, pass a...a potions shop, I believe. Is that sufficient info?" Turning her head, Fortuna could see the observatory just over the hill-- "In fact, it's not far from this spot at all."[/ul]

"Is that so?" he said to Fortuna, facing towards where she was looking.
Path could see the observatory above them. "Actually," Path said to the unicorn, "That is quite convenient. Excuse me for a bit..." he said as he dug around his saddle bag for the town map. "Ah, here we go." Pulling the map out, he showed it to Fortuna. "My house is directly south of yours," he said, pointing in the area he was talking about on the map. "Its about 30 minutes away, give or take, so its not that long of a flight for me."
Path didn't want Fortuna to walk alone, so he asked her this. "I know we're close to your home and all, but would you like me to escort there? It is awfully dark after all."

she consoled, and then let out a chuckle, "I'll find my way home just fine--I won't get lose so easily. I will meet you tomorrow morning. Good eve, Mister Pathfinder." With that, she said her farewells with a polite bow of her head, before heading off to her home. When she got there, she glanced up to the spot where her gift had been...and sighed. What if she didn't manage to find her bell again? How would she ever face her friends, after all the trouble they put into getting it to her? 'All I can do is try my best...again, and again.'Fortuna Star had a restless sort of sleep that night. In the morning, she prepared to leave and sat outside her abode, with a canister of tea and two cups--and waited for her trekking companion to come meet her.[/ul]

"Very well then," He replied to her, "In that case, I'll see you tomorrow. Take care."
Once they said their good-byes, Path made his way back home, hoping to get as much rest as possible for the search the the next day.
The follow morning, after a short breakfast, Path gathered some items he thought he would need for today search. Once that was done, he, along with Scylla, his daughter, and Scarlet, made their way towards Fortuna's home. He figured that the more ponies (and animal) they had looking, the better the changes of finding the bell.
As they came close to Fortuna's home, they saw her waiting outside.
"Good morning," Path said. He then saw that Fortuna looked a bit tired. "Are you alright? You seem a bit worn out."

Fortuna admitted, "but I'll be alright. Thank you for the concern. ...? Oh, hello there." She peered towards Scylla, curiously so. She had never met a Seapony before, and she appeared just a bit younger than herself. "I don't believe I've had the pleasure of making your acquaintance before. Would you care for some tea, Miss...?" she queried politely. Though the pleasantries were nice, Fortuna couldn't help but wish they'd all hurry along some. Just as she was last night, she was worried over never finding that bell again...and her anxiousness showed in how her eyes would dart towards the forest ever so subtly...[/ul]
