This is an Open Roleplay.
What- Fortuna Star has just arrived in Equestria Crossing. Where- Just exited the Train Station and now entering town. she thought to herself, 'I swear, she did this on purpose...It's even worse with my eyesight...' She shook her head with strained eyes shut, and tucked the 'map' away. A sigh escaped her as Fortuna then looked around for a pony that could help her. "What better way to introduce myself than to be lost..." she muttered facetiously under her breath.[/ul]

Having gathered the last plant for her brew, Para made her way out the woods. "Hopefully this will help make Path fill better," she thought to herself. Just as Para reached the exit of the wood, she spotted somepony wondering about. "Hmm," she said, "Don't remember seeing her around these part... She seems kind of lost..."
Wanting to see if she could be of any help, Para made her towards this pony. Once she got near her, Para called out the mare. "Hey, you! Are you alright?"

Fortuna blinked in surprise at this somewhat rude call, and turned to look in the direction of the voice. Her gaze came down to Paramitsha... 'A filly?' she pondered in thought, 'No, just a bit on the short side, I suppose.' Deciding not to comment about her use of 'you', Fortuna nodded in response. "I'm new here in town," she explained, "And I'm unsure of where my place of residency is. It's suppose to be near the observatory but the 'map' I was given is less than...legible. Do you suppose you could help me, Miss? I'd be grateful for any assistance.
My name is Fortuna Star, by the way. Not 'you'.". . .Alright, forget not mentioning that. "And what may I call you?"[/ul]

"You may call me Para," she said to Fortuna, "and sorry for calling you out like that," Para said to her, looking sorry for what she said to her before, "I'm a bit in a rush... A friend of mine isn't feeling so well..."
"Anyway, you said that you live near the observatory, correct?" she said to the other mare, " If that's the case, it's not too far off from where I'm headed."
Before doing anything else, Para had one quick question. " If it's alright, may I see your map first? I left my at home and I want to make sure of the location of the observatory."

Fortuna replied, offering a small, friendly smile to accept her apology. "I'm sorry to take up your time when your friend is feeling under the weather and here--" She pulled the map out once more and unfolded it for Para to see. It really was a...something. Whoever it was that drew it, certainly took quite few liberties and put in a lot of effort into it. Colorful lines and arrows, some glitter, and jumbles of what were possible buildings and squiggles for trees... ...Are we sure this was actually a map? "If we're both headed near the observatory, I would imagine that would suffice if you could lead me around there," she noted, "I heard it wouldn't too hard to miss as it has my name on the mailbox already."[/ul]

"...What kind of map is this?," was the first thing to came into Para's mind. "It looks like it was made by a foal..." Rolling it up, She handed the map back to Fortuna. "Well, that was an... interesting map..."
"Anyway, I know how to get there," Para said, " Now, normally, I would expect a returned favor for this... But, since you are new and all, I'll help you free of charge!" she said, all while grinning. Para now placed her saddle back on. "Are you all set to go Miss. Star?"
They both soon started to make their way towards Fortuna's home. For a while, they walked in silence, until Para asked a question. "Hey, Fortune," she asked, " If you don't mind telling me, where are you from?

Fortuna then replied with a raised brow. She was, perhaps, a bit amused by her 'deal'...Though she didn't show it in any form of a smile or such. "Lead the way if you pleased," Fortuna added and they went off. It was a peaceful silence, for the while that it lasted, but she wasn't one to dislike idle chit-chat and welcomed the inquiry openly. "It's no issue...I moved here from Trottington," the unicorn mare responded, "There was a wonderful observatory there as well. Originally, however, I was born and raised in Coltwall. Was there any particular reason you were interested, Miss Para?"[/ul]

"Oh, no reason," Para said to the mare. "Just trying to make conversation is all." After saying this, both mares walked in silence. During this time, Para got a brief look at Fortuna's cutie mark. " ... Two cards?," she thought to herself. "I wonder..."
"Excuse me, Miss Star? Your talent wouldn't happen to be fortune-telling by any chance?," Para asked the mare.

Then silence came again. During that time, however, Fortuna began to think to herself. 'Was I being too formal just then?' she pondered, 'I wouldn't like to appear frigid...And I suppose it is rude of me to let her try and carry a conversation all by herself.' She was taken out of her thoughts when Para asked her another question, but this time Fortuna felt compelled to stop in her tracks. She blinked at Para with slightly widened eyes, as if almost taken back by this particular inquiry. She instinctively raised a hoof towards her treasured collar... "Yes, it is," she promptly replied but with a hesitant tone. "Same as yourself, if my assumption that your Cutie Mark is of a scrying orb, is correct."[/ul]

"Yes," Para said, looking back towards her own cutie mark, smiling, "you are correct." She was about to ask Fortuna about how she got her cutie mark, until she saw the expression on her face. She had a concerned look, like she didn't want to talk about it. "Did I ask something I shouldn't have?," Para thought to herself, "maybe I should stay off that topic for now..."
Wanting to change the subject, Para thought it would be better if she talked about herself. "I earned my cutie mark when I was still traveling with my family," she said, remembering back to those times. "My father would set up shows for others and each one of my family members had an act." Para stopped for awhile, thinking about the person who helped her earned her cutie mark. "My mother used to practice fortune-telling when I was young. In fact, she was the reason why I took an interest in fortune-telling in the first place."
"Who would of thought it would end up being my special talent?," Para said happily. "... Then again, maybe it runs in the family, being gypsies and all."

Fortuna nodded with a grin, regaled by Para's Cutie Mark story, "It must have been fun, traveling with your family like that. Though I suppose tiring at the same time...What sort of places have you've been to?" When Para mentioned her family being gypsies, the lavender mare couldn't help but wonder if she happened to know... 'It wouldn't be right to assume they're affiliated,' she thought, 'But it couldn't help to ask.'"Miss Para, I hope you won't find it rude...but might I ask if you're familiar with someponies that I know? They are from a gypsy line as well, you see," she explained, "Brothers called 'Vex' and 'Omen'. I don't believe those are their real names though..."[/ul]

"Oh, It was fun!," Para replied, all the while smiling. To her, those are priceless memories she would never trade for anything. "I lost track of all the places we been to, but I believe we been to every place in Equestria!...But, as fun as that was, it was a downside."
"You see, since my family and I were always on the move, I didn't have a place to call home," she explained to Fortuna. "Don't get me wrong; I enjoyed it while it lasted, but sometimes, I wish we could of settled down once in a while." Para took a short pause before talking again. "That's one of the reasons why I came to the crossing you know."
When Fortuna asks if she know the two brothers, Para thought for a while. "Hmm, Vex and Omen you say?... sorry, doesn't ring a bell. Why you ask? You got some history with them?

the mare commented, "And your family as well. Though as they say, ''Absence makes the heart grow fonder', and it helps us understand the invaluable worth of those dear to us...I should like to see your family's act if they happen to come by here, one day." At this point, they would had gone far enough towards the Observatory[and hopefully Fortuna's new home], that it was almost like someone had timed the moment on purpose: "Yes, there was a little bit of history..." Fortuna responded with a soft smile. Her gaze had gone off to somewhere in the distance, and she seemed to be reminiscing for just a moment. But more than that, the mare seemed at peace thinking about whatever it was. "And I was just curious... Oh."Seeing a house just ahead, Fortuna took a moment to peer at the mailbox out front. "I believe this is my new residence right here." She turned to Para once more to thank her for her help. "I'm grateful you took the time to lead me here, so thank you, Miss Para."[/ul]

''Absence makes the heart grow fonder and it helps us understand the invaluable worth of those dear to us"
It was this time somepony told her that. Upon hearing that, it brought a smile to Para's face. "Thank you very much Fortuna!," she said to the other unicorn, "Nopony ever put it that way before. Oh! And my family still travel around. If they are ever in town, I'll be sure to invite you, okay?"
Upon hearing that there's some history between Fortuna and the two other ponies she mention, Para couldn't help but wonder what that the story behind that was. "I wounder if she'll be willing to share that?," Para thought to herself. Before she got the chance to ask, Fortuna told her that they have arrived at her home. "Maybe next time."
"You are very welcome Fortuna! Glad I could help out." After saying that, Para was getting to return to her friend. "I have to get going now. I think I made my friend wait long enough. Take care of yourself... Oh! Before I forget, welcome to the Crossing!"
